TATA.ev, India’s leading electric mobility brand, has launched the new avatar of the Punch.ev, marking a major step toward accelerating mainstream electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the country. Priced attractively from ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the new Punch.ev aims to make electric mobility more affordable, practical, and accessible for Indian households.
To further lower the entry barrier, Tata Motors is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing model, with the vehicle starting at ₹6.49 lakh plus a battery EMI of ₹2.6 per km, enabling flexible ownership options for customers transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to EVs.
The new Punch.ev offers an estimated real-world driving range of around 355 km, making it suitable for daily city commuting as well as short intercity travel. Built on Tata’s advanced acti.ev architecture, the electric SUV is available in three personas—Smart, Adventure, and Empowered—to cater to diverse customer preferences.
Addressing key concerns around EV adoption, Tata Motors has equipped the Punch.ev with a 40 kWh LFP battery pack delivering an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, along with an optional 30 kWh battery variant. The vehicle supports fast charging, enabling charging from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes, and adding 135 km of range in approximately 15 minutes.
To further enhance customer confidence, Tata Motors is offering a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty covering unlimited kilometres, applicable for up to 15 years for the first owner.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said the new Punch.ev resolves key barriers such as affordability, range anxiety, charging convenience, and battery assurance. He added that the model represents a significant leap in democratizing electric mobility in India.
Tata Motors also highlighted its rapidly expanding charging ecosystem, with access to over 2.3 lakh charging points across 1,500 cities, including more than 450 superfast charging points across 130+ highway charging hubs, which is expected to expand to 800 points by FY26.
With competitive pricing, extended range, fast charging capability, and strong warranty support, the new Punch.ev is expected to strengthen Tata Motors’ leadership in India’s entry-level EV segment and accelerate the shift toward sustainable mobility.
