Zypp Electric, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) rental platform for last-mile deliveries, has announced a rapid expansion in Jaipur and Hyderabad, scaling to 1,000 electric vehicles in each city within just one month of launch. The milestone signals growing momentum for sustainable logistics and rising adoption of electric mobility in India’s tier-2 cities.
The expansion strengthens Zypp Electric’s role as a key enabler of India’s gig economy. By offering EVs supported by a robust battery-swapping infrastructure, the platform helps delivery partners eliminate range anxiety and minimize downtime, while significantly reducing operating costs. According to the company, delivery partners can earn ₹25,000–35,000 per month and save over ₹5,000 monthly compared to using internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
New Hubs to Support Scale-Up
To support its growing operations, Zypp Electric has commissioned two new state-of-the-art hubs in Jaipur and Hyderabad, each spanning over 5,000 square feet. These facilities are equipped to handle vehicle maintenance, battery swapping, and onboarding of delivery partners serving e-commerce, food delivery, and quick commerce platforms.
The company has outlined ambitious growth plans for the coming financial year, targeting a fleet of 10,000 EVs in Hyderabad and 5,000 EVs in Jaipur, further deepening its presence beyond established metro markets.
Expanding Beyond Metros
“Reaching 1,000 EVs in both Jaipur and Hyderabad within a month validates our belief that electric last-mile mobility is not only environmentally necessary but also economically compelling across more Indian cities,” said Akash Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Zypp Electric. He added that Jaipur marks the company’s first entry into a tier-2 city, alongside its expansion beyond Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
“Our delivery partners are at the heart of this transformation—earning sustainable livelihoods while contributing to a greener future,” Gupta said, noting that Zypp plans to scale to 15,000 vehicles across these cities in the coming year.
Strong National Growth Trajectory
As of late 2025, Zypp Electric operates over 22,000 EVs nationwide, having completed more than 100 million deliveries. The company reported ₹455 crore in revenue for FY25, a 50 percent year-on-year increase, and estimates it has helped save 58 million kilograms of carbon emissions.
Zypp’s battery-swapping network now exceeds 1,500 swap points across India, complemented by a growing three-wheeler fleet of more than 900 electric vehicles. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand to over 100,000 vehicles across 25 cities by 2030, positioning itself as a major driver of India’s clean and inclusive last-mile delivery ecosystem.
