Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its fixed-battery electric two-wheeled personal commuter, Honda UC3, in Thailand and Vietnam, with sales set to begin in spring 2026. Positioned as equivalent to a 110cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle, the UC3 marks a significant step in Honda’s expanding electric mobility strategy across Southeast Asia.

The Honda UC3 is the first electric two-wheeler to reflect Honda’s new global brand promise for its electric motorcycle business, “Expected life. Unexpected discoveries.” Developed under the concept of an “Intelligent Urban Life Partner,” the UC3 aims to deliver electric-specific value while maintaining Honda’s long-standing standards of quality, reliability, and safety.

Powering the UC3 is Honda’s first fixed-type lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with an in-house developed wheel-side motor producing a maximum output of 6.0 kW. Enhanced regenerative control and optimized magnetic circuit design enable the electric commuter to achieve a cruising range of up to 122 km per charge under WMTC Mode 1 (Thailand-certified).

The UC3 features three riding modes—STANDARD, SPORT, and ECON—allowing riders to adapt performance based on riding conditions. A reverse mode has also been introduced to improve ease of handling during parking and low-speed maneuvering.

From a design perspective, the UC3 incorporates flowing front-to-rear curves and a distinctive arched tail section. It adopts a horizontal signature light first seen on Honda’s initial electric motorcycle, the Honda WN7. The model is finished in a dedicated EV colour scheme, combining a black body with gold-accented components, and features a newly developed ‘Honda’ font exclusive to electric motorcycles.

In terms of charging, the UC3 supports “CHAdeMO for two-wheelers,” a charging standard aligned with international specifications recommended by the CHAdeMO Association. Two charger options—1200W and 450W—are available, offering flexible charging solutions. Using the 1200W charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 2 hours, while a full charge takes around 4 hours.

Alongside the product launch, Honda is accelerating the development of charging infrastructure in both countries. In Thailand, charging stations for fixed-battery electric motorcycles will be expanded at Honda motorcycle dealerships and shopping malls in and around Bangkok. In Vietnam, Honda plans to begin installing charging stations at dealerships in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, with operations targeted to start from June 2026.

Honda will also continue expanding its Honda e:Swap BATTERY STATION network for electric motorcycles powered by the swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, particularly at dealerships in Bangkok and Hanoi.

Production of the UC3 commenced in December 2025 at Thai Honda Co., Ltd., supplying both Thailand and Vietnam. Honda has also announced plans to localize production in Vietnam at Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd. during 2026 to ensure a stable and timely supply amid rapid electrification of the motorcycle market.

Reaffirming its long-term sustainability vision, Honda reiterated its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 across all products and corporate activities. While continuing to advance ICE technologies, the company is positioning electrification as a core pillar of its environmental strategy, with plans to introduce new electric motorcycle models globally on an annual basis. Honda also highlighted future initiatives focused on battery repurposing and recycling, aimed at building a circular value chain and supporting a carbon-neutral society.
