VinFast has marked a major milestone in Vietnam’s electric mobility journey, with its Hai Phong automotive manufacturing complex rolling out its 200,000th electric vehicle (EV) in 2025. The achievement comes as the company continues to hold its position as Vietnam’s best-selling automotive brand by a wide margin for over a year.
The 200,000 EVs produced at the Hai Phong plant this year cater to both domestic demand and international export markets. Strengthening its global manufacturing footprint, VinFast also commenced operations at three new plants in 2025, located in Ha Tinh (Vietnam), Tamil Nadu (India), and West Java (Indonesia).
The milestone vehicle is the Limo Green, a 7-seater electric MPV that has quickly gained popularity in the Vietnamese market. The model recorded sales of 9,642 units in November 2025 alone, setting a new all-time monthly sales record for a single vehicle model and significantly contributing to the highest sales performance in Vietnam’s automotive industry.
Production at the Hai Phong facility peaked in December, with nearly 26,000 vehicles manufactured during the month. A new daily production record was set on December 14, 2025, when 1,062 vehicles rolled off the assembly line—equivalent to an average of nearly 43 vehicles per hour. VinFast said this level of productivity is comparable to some of the world’s largest Gigafactories.
The Hai Phong complex operates with an automation level of up to 90%, supported by more than 1,200 ABB robots and a workforce of over 18,000 employees working in flexible three-shift rotations. In addition to electric passenger vehicles, the facility also achieved record-high production volumes of electric motorcycles and electric buses in 2025, reflecting growing adoption of green mobility solutions.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Trinh Van Ngan, Deputy CEO of Global Manufacturing at VinFast, said the milestone underscores the dedication and capability of the workforce. He added that with expanded manufacturing operations in India and Indonesia, VinFast is well-positioned for accelerated growth in 2026 and beyond.
As of November 2025, VinFast had delivered 147,450 electric vehicles across all models, reinforcing its leadership in Vietnam’s domestic EV market. With record production levels achieved in December, the company is expected to close 2025 with the highest sales volume and market share ever recorded in the country’s automotive industry.
