Lexus has strengthened its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio with the introduction of the Special Edition RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance”, a new flagship variant of its dedicated electric SUV lineup. The model will go on sale across Japan, further underlining Lexus’s push toward electrification under its “Beyond Zero” and carbon-neutrality strategy.
Developed as Lexus’s first BEV-dedicated model, the RZ series represents the starting point of the brand’s transformation into a fully electric future. The newly announced RZ 600e builds on the RZ 550e “F SPORT” and further evolves the driving appeal first established by the limited-edition RZ 450e “F SPORT Performance.”
At the heart of the RZ 600e is a comprehensively redesigned electric drivetrain delivering a system output of 313 kW (425.5 PS). Power is supplied by dual electric motors—one on each axle—producing strong and linear acceleration, with the SUV capable of sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Lexus has also re-evaluated battery output limits to extract higher performance while maintaining smoothness and control.
The vehicle features a 76.96 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTC-rated cruising range of 525 km and an energy consumption figure of 159 Wh/km. Fast charging is supported via the CHAdeMO standard, reinforcing usability for long-distance electric driving.
A major highlight of the Special Edition RZ 600e is its enhanced aerodynamic package. By lowering the vehicle height by 20 mm compared with the standard RZ 550e F SPORT, Lexus has reduced drag and improved high-speed stability. Exclusive carbon components—including a carbon roof, carbon wing, turning vanes, hood bulge, and spoilers—generate significant downforce, delivering confident handling across varied driving conditions.
To match the increased motor output, Lexus has equipped the RZ 600e with larger 20-inch brake rotors and front opposed six-piston aluminum monoblock brake calipers, ensuring strong and consistent braking performance. The braking system has been tuned specifically for sporty driving, providing precise pedal feel and enhanced driver confidence.
The electric SUV also showcases Lexus’s next-generation Steer-by-Wire system, paired with Interactive Manual Drive, offering a more engaging and intuitive steering response. According to Lexus, these technologies reflect its “Always On” philosophy, aiming to deliver a continuously connected and emotionally engaging driving experience—from city roads to winding highways.
Design-wise, the RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance” is offered in two exclusive exterior color combinations: Black with HAKUGIN II (matte clear finish) and Black with Neutrino Gray. Blue accents contrast with the black bodywork, emphasizing the model’s sporty electric character. Inside, the cabin features Ultrasuede® sport seats with blue stitching, designed to provide strong lateral support during spirited driving while retaining everyday comfort.
The Special Edition rides on 21-inch ENKEI aluminum wheels and measures 4,860 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Vehicle weight stands at 2,140 kg.
In Japan, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price is set at ¥12.44 million for the Black and HAKUGIN II variant, while the Black and Neutrino Gray version is priced at ¥12.165 million, inclusive of consumption tax.
With the launch of the Special Edition RZ 600e “F SPORT Performance,” Lexus continues to sharpen its electric performance credentials, blending high-output electrification, advanced steering technology, and aerodynamic innovation as it accelerates toward a carbon-neutral, all-electric future.
