Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the XEV 9S, India’s first electric-origin 7-seater SUV built entirely on the company’s INGLO platform. Priced from ₹19.95 lakh, the new SUV aims to redefine family mobility with enhanced space, advanced technology, and high-performance electric capabilities.
Positioned as “India’s Big New Electric,” the XEV 9S offers expansive interiors, a whisper-quiet drive, and a three-row layout designed to give users more room and comfort than traditional SUVs and MPVs.
Mahindra describes the XEV 9S as an SUV built for “big lives,” targeting families, travellers, creators, and everyday commuters seeking space and premium EV features.

The SUV uses MAIA, Mahindra’s advanced automotive intelligence system, enabling a suite of high-tech features from autonomous assistance to smart cabin controls. Speaking at the launch, R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business, said the XEV 9S “creates more space than anyone else and offers a smooth, noise-free ride.”

Designed under Mahindra’s Heartcore Design philosophy, the XEV 9S features:
- A premium stance with clean lines, gloss finishes, and a panoramic skyroof
- Cabin volume of 4076 litres (front + second row)
- Boot capacity up to 527 litres
- A massive 150-litre frunk, the largest in its class
The second row offers luxury touches such as ventilated seats, recline adjustments, sliding function, and sunshades.
