Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and a leading global commercial vehicle manufacturer, has strengthened its presence in the Middle East with a new strategic partnership with FAMCO Qatar, part of the Al-Futtaim Group. The collaboration marks the company’s official entry into the Qatari market and underscores its ambitions to support the nation’s rapid infrastructure and transport development.

The launch event, held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, showcased Ashok Leyland’s complete commercial vehicle portfolio for Qatar, including the flagship Falcon and Oyster buses, the Boss and Partner light and medium-duty trucks, and—most notably—the introduction of the company’s new Electric Bus for the region.

Strengthening Middle East Strategy After Saudi Expansion

The Qatar partnership builds on Ashok Leyland’s successful 2024 entry into Saudi Arabia in collaboration with FAMCO KSA, reinforcing the growing alliance between the manufacturer and the Al-Futtaim Group. The association leverages Al-Futtaim’s strong regional distribution network, promising enhanced fleet uptime, reliable aftersales support, and greater market penetration.

Full Range Tailored for Qatar’s Mobility Needs

With a legacy of over 75 years, Ashok Leyland is positioning its vehicles to meet the diverse demands of Qatar’s fleet operators, logistics providers, SMEs, and public transport stakeholders. The company highlighted its focus on operational longevity, fuel efficiency, and reduced total cost of ownership—factors that remain critical for the region’s commercial vehicle buyers.

The debut of Ashok Leyland’s Electric Bus drew significant attention, reaffirming the company’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility solutions worldwide.
