In a major step toward redefining connected and intelligent mobility, Kia India has announced the launch of an industry-first “Plant Remote Over-The-Air (OTA)” feature, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing customer ownership experience through innovation.
The new technology will be available in Kia’s latest models built on the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform. With this feature, every connected Kia vehicle will receive the latest software updates remotely before leaving the manufacturing plant, ensuring that customers receive a fully upgraded, ready-to-drive car at the time of delivery.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “The introduction of the Plant Remote OTA feature exemplifies Kia’s dedication to driving innovation that truly enhances the customer journey. By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we are redefining the ownership experience to be more seamless, intelligent, and future-ready.”
By minimizing the need for manual updates or dealership visits, this initiative allows customers to instantly access the complete suite of connected services and digital features upon taking delivery.
Leveraging Controller OTA functionality compliant with Connected Car System 2.0 (CCS 2.0), the new system underscores Kia India’s leadership in technology-driven mobility solutions. The automaker plans to roll out the Plant OTA feature across all its upcoming connected models, bridging the gap between production and delivery with timely feature enhancements and security updates.
Through this move, Kia India continues to set new benchmarks in intelligent, connected mobility, offering customers a smarter, more seamless driving experience right from day one.
