In a landmark move for India’s electric mobility landscape, Ola Electric today announced the commencement of deliveries of its S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) scooter powered by the indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. This milestone makes Ola the first Indian company to fully design, develop, and manufacture both the battery pack and the cell in-house, marking a major step toward national energy self-reliance.

According to the company, the 4680 Bharat Cell enables higher energy density, improved performance, and enhanced safety, while significantly extending vehicle range. The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) now delivers a range of 320 km (IDC with DIY mode) and acceleration of 0–40 km/h in just 2.1 seconds, powered by a 13 kW motor.

An Ola Electric spokesperson said, With deliveries of 4680 Bharat Cell-powered vehicles underway, we are taking a giant leap toward achieving true energy independence. The 4680 Bharat Cell is not just a product—it’s a symbol of India’s capability to lead the world in EV innovation. This is just the beginning of our journey toward self-reliant energy and mobility.

The company recently achieved ARAI certification for its 4680 Bharat Cell battery packs under the latest AIS-156 Amendment 4 standards issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, reaffirming its compliance with India’s stringent EV safety norms.

The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) also comes with dual ABS, front and rear disc brakes, and four riding modes—Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. It features new ergonomic enhancements including a two-tone seat with supportive foam, body-colored mirrors, and a die-cast aluminum grab handle. The scooter will be available in multiple color options such as Passion Red, Porcelain White, Jet Black, Stellar Blue, and Midnight Blue.

Ola Electric currently offers a wide portfolio of S1 scooters and Roadster X motorcycles, catering to both premium and mass-market segments. With the integration of the 4680 Bharat Cell, the company strengthens its vision of building a vertically integrated EV ecosystem, positioning India as a global hub for advanced battery innovation.
