Gotion marked a major milestone with the celebration ceremony for Slovakia’s first EV battery manufacturing plant in Šurany. The project represents a defining moment in Europe’s industrial transformation.
From Asia to Europe, Gotion is building a connected ecosystem that accelerates the region’s journey toward a cleaner and smarter energy future. The Slovakia Gigafactory marks another key step in realizing that mission.
Spanning 95 hectares, the Gigafactory is designed with an initial annual production capacity of 20 GWh and is scheduled to commence operations in 2027. The facility will serve the European Union market exclusively, strengthening Gotion’s regional supply capabilities, enhancing logistics efficiency, and reinforcing its role in Europe’s evolving green industrial value chain.
“The production facility in Šurany will bring significant added value and create a substantial number of jobs. It will also contribute to economic growth, which is essential for improving the quality of life of people not only in this region but across the whole of Slovakia,” said Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.
