Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled the world premiere of the Honda 0 α (Alpha) prototype, a next-generation electric SUV under its futuristic Honda 0 Series, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The model will be showcased at the Honda booth throughout the event.

Positioned as a “gateway model” into the Honda 0 Series lineup, the Honda 0 α follows the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV, both introduced earlier this year at CES 2025. Designed as an SUV that harmonizes seamlessly with both urban landscapes and natural surroundings, the new prototype embodies Honda’s design philosophy of creating vehicles that support diverse lifestyles.

The Honda 0 α reflects the development ethos of the 0 Series — “Thin, Light, and Wise” — emphasizing efficient design, intelligent technology integration, and lightweight construction for improved performance and sustainability.

Scheduled for global sales beginning in 2027, with a primary focus on Japan and India, the Honda 0 α aims to cater to the growing demand for premium, eco-friendly SUVs in emerging and developed markets alike.

From a design standpoint, Honda has achieved a low vehicle height without compromising ground clearance, offering a sleek yet stable SUV silhouette. Its wide stance ensures both visual strength and enhanced driving dynamics.

The exterior design features a futuristic approach — integrating headlights, charging lid, and illuminated emblem into a front “screen area”, while the rear end incorporates U-shaped LED lighting that unites the tail, backup, and turn signal lamps into one cohesive element. This not only enhances aerodynamics and lighting efficiency but also elevates the aesthetic appeal of the EV.

With the Honda 0 α, the company reiterates its vision of redefining electric mobility by combining advanced technology, environmental responsibility, and driving joy — a core reflection of its global brand philosophy, “The Power of Dreams.”
