In a major step toward sustainable urban mobility, Silence, ACCIONA’s electric vehicle brand, has launched its first 14 battery swap stations in Paris and the metropolitan area, marking the beginning of a large-scale expansion across France. The company plans to extend this network to the French Riviera, including Nice and Cannes, before the end of the year.
This rollout mirrors the successful model established in Spain, where Silence already operates more than 160 battery swap stations. The innovative system enables users to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in just 30 seconds, offering a faster alternative to conventional refueling.
Most of the French swap stations are located at Esso service stations through a strategic partnership, while others are situated in key parking areas and Silence dealerships across Paris.
Alongside the infrastructure rollout, Silence is also introducing its monthly battery subscription model to France—an offering that reduces the upfront cost of EV ownership by around 30%. The subscription covers 12 battery cycles, equating to over 1,500 km of travel for the NanoCar S04, the company’s compact four-wheeled electric vehicle.
Silence’s ecosystem unifies both two- and four-wheeled EVs under a single removable trolley-style battery system, ensuring a shared charging infrastructure. The brand’s S01 electric motorcycle—Europe’s best-selling model for five consecutive years—boasts a range of up to 136 km and a top speed of 120 km/h in its S01+ version. The 2025 edition introduces a premium design upgrade, including a custom Shad seat and Öhlins rear suspension for enhanced comfort.
The NanoCar S04, distributed in France through Nissan dealerships, is offered in both L6e light quadricycle and L7e heavy quadricycle categories. Depending on the variant, the model delivers up to 149 km of range and a top speed of 85 km/h, tailored for city and metropolitan travel. Compact yet feature-rich, the S04 includes Bluetooth connectivity, disc brakes, a 247-liter trunk, and the MySilence app for keyless access and real-time battery management.
With its growing ecosystem of swap stations, flexible ownership options, and technologically advanced EVs, Silence is positioning itself as a pioneer of sustainable mobility in France—driving not only cleaner cities but also greater accessibility to electric transportation.
