Kazam, India’s leading EV energy solutions provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to accelerate the expansion of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country.
Under this collaboration, more than 5,350 HPCL EV chargers, including 3,043 DC fast chargers, have been integrated into the Kazam app via its OCPI-powered platform. These chargers are strategically located along highways, in major cities, and at key HPCL retail outlets, providing EV users with real-time access to HPCL’s growing charging network.
The partnership aims to make EV charging more convenient and accessible than ever before, in alignment with the Government of India’s PM eDrive scheme. HPCL, which operates over 24,000 fuel retail outlets, is rapidly expanding its EV infrastructure to support India’s transition toward low-carbon and sustainable mobility.
“Kazam’s OCPI platform will ensure seamless aggregation and real-time visibility of HPCL chargers, enabling EV users to discover, navigate, and charge at HPCL stations effortlessly,” said Paras Shah, COO of Kazam. “This partnership will enhance India’s public EV charging ecosystem and marks a decisive step in the nation’s journey toward sustainable mobility.”
Echoing the sentiment, Kushal Kumar Banerjee, Chief General Manager at HPCL, said, “Partnering with Kazam is a key step in expanding India’s EV charging ecosystem. By leveraging Kazam’s innovative platform, we aim to offer EV users easier access, reliable operations, and a seamless charging experience. This initiative underscores HPCL’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting the Government of India’s clean transport mission.”
In addition to improved visibility for users, Kazam’s OCPI platform offers interoperability across multiple charging protocols and advanced backend monitoring for charge point operators (CPOs) and e-mobility service providers (eMSPs). This ensures reliable performance, scalable growth, and a more connected EV infrastructure across India.
The partnership between HPCL and Kazam represents a significant milestone in building a greener, smarter, and more connected future for India’s mobility landscape.
