In a bid to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in India, TVS Motor Company has entered into a strategic partnership with ALT Mobility to deploy up to 3,000 electric three-wheelers during FY 2025–26. The initiative is expected to strengthen India’s shared and cargo mobility ecosystem while lowering the entry barrier for drivers and fleet operators.

Under the agreement, TVS will supply its advanced electric three-wheeler range, while ALT Mobility will facilitate leasing and financing through its “Drive-to-own” model. The vehicles will be available via TVS’s dealer network and ALT’s sales touchpoints across the country, ensuring wider accessibility.

Industry experts highlight that the partnership goes beyond vehicle supply. ALT Mobility’s integrated asset management platform, which provides real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance, will help maximize vehicle uptime and extend asset life. This approach is projected to enhance earnings for drivers who rely on the vehicles for daily income, while reducing operational risks for fleet operators.

Rajat Gupta, Business Head – Commercial Mobility, TVS Motor, emphasized the role of technology-driven design in commercial EV adoption. “Our three-wheeler portfolio is engineered for range, faster charging, and durability — all critical elements for businesses and mobility entrepreneurs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anuj Gupta, Co-founder & CBO of ALT Mobility, underlined the importance of affordability and reliability. “The Drive-to-own model ensures that drivers and fleets can transition to electric vehicles without the upfront ownership burden. We are not just providing vehicles, but enabling sustainable livelihoods through assured uptime and integrated services.”

The lease package offered by ALT covers insurance, servicing, roadside assistance, fitness certification, and even traffic challan management. Analysts suggest that such comprehensive offerings could set a precedent in the commercial EV segment, where ownership costs and downtime have traditionally slowed adoption.

As India pushes toward net-zero commitments, collaborations like this are increasingly seen as essential for building a resilient, zero-emission logistics ecosystem. By addressing financing, maintenance, and driver support in tandem, TVS and ALT Mobility’s model may serve as a blueprint for wider EV adoption in commercial mobility.
