Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced that it will begin sales of its all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA, in Japan from January 16, 2026.
The e VITARA marks Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV model, symbolizing the company’s entry into the mass EV market. First unveiled in Milan, Italy in November 2024, and later showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in India, the e VITARA has already drawn international attention.
With the product concept of an “Emotional Versatile Cruiser,” the e VITARA blends advanced BEV technology with the rugged appeal of an SUV. Key highlights include:
- A new BEV-specific platform, “HEARTECT-e,” designed for efficiency and performance.
- An electric 4WD system, “ALLGRIP-e,” providing robust off-road capability alongside powerful on-road dynamics.
- A nimble, sharp driving experience characteristic of Suzuki’s engineering DNA.
Suzuki aims to position the e VITARA as a global flagship EV, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility while retaining the brand’s hallmark of compact versatility and driving fun.
