Sterling Tools Limited, a leading automotive component manufacturer and market leader in Motor Control Units, has announced its entry into EV On-board Chargers (OBCs) and DC/DC converters through its subsidiary, Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited (SGEM).

SGEM has signed Technology License and Supply agreements with Landworld Technology Co. Ltd., China, to locally manufacture OBCs, DC/DC converters, and multifunction units that integrate OBCs, converters, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs). Production will take place at SGEM’s EV campus in Faridabad.

The partnership is projected to generate ₹450 crore in business by FY 2030, in a segment expected to reach ₹3,000 crore. By localizing production, Sterling aims to promote import substitution, strengthening India’s EV supply chain under the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives.

Commenting on the development, Anil Aggarwal, Chairman, Sterling Tools, said the move would “create greater depth in the EV ecosystem” and provide OEMs with both standalone and multifunction solutions.

Mr. Lin Chen, Vice GM of Landworld Technology, highlighted India’s EV market potential, stating the collaboration would deliver high-quality, locally manufactured solutions aligned with India’s sustainability and self-reliance goals.

Sterling Gtake has been steadily expanding its EV components portfolio, which already includes motor control units, magnet-free motors, and chargers. With this diversification, the company aims to establish strong competence in EV power electronics and cater to India’s fast-growing auto industry.
