Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) has launched Shenxing Pro, the world’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery capable of sustained high-voltage supply with no fire or smoke after thermal runaway. The global battery leader unveiled the innovation at IAA Mobility 2025, positioning Shenxing Pro as a game-changer for Europe’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) market.
Europe’s EV adoption is on a steep rise, with penetration expected to touch 29% by the end of 2025, according to SNE and MarkLines. Yet consumer concerns about high costs, limited range, charging gaps, and safety persist. CATL’s Shenxing Pro directly tackles these challenges, offering two advanced variants powered by the company’s proprietary NP 3.0 safety technology.
The Super Long Life & Long Range Battery delivers a record-breaking 758 km WLTP range with a lifespan of up to 12 years or 1,000,000 km, making it ideal for Europe’s leasing markets. Meanwhile, the Super-Fast Charging Battery enables 478 km of range in just 10 minutes, even at low state of charge, and maintains 410 km of range in 20 minutes at –20°C.
CATL’s NP 3.0 technology ensures world-class safety by sustaining power for over an hour after thermal runaway, allowing drivers to steer vehicles out of danger. It also supports autonomous driving demands by ensuring uninterrupted power continuity.
