Volvo Cars has announced that it will reveal its latest all-electric model, the Volvo EX60, on January 21, 2026, during a livestreamed global event from Stockholm.
The EX60, described as “born electric,” will be the first model built on Volvo’s latest technology base, offering the longest electric driving range ever in a Volvo vehicle. It also promises a groundbreaking user experience, underscoring Volvo’s push to blend premium comfort with cutting-edge technology.
Positioned in the premium mid-size SUV segment, where Volvo already enjoys leadership, the EX60 is set to become a cornerstone in the company’s future product line. Production of the model will begin in the first half of 2026 at Volvo’s Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The launch marks a major step in Volvo’s transformation into a fully electrified carmaker, aligning with its long-term ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
This announcement follows a record-breaking 2024 for Volvo Cars, which posted a core operating profit of SEK 27 billion, revenues of SEK 400.2 billion, and global sales reaching 763,389 cars, the highest in its history.
Founded in 1927, Volvo Cars continues to expand its global presence, with operations in more than 100 countries and production hubs across Europe, the US, and China. As of December 2024, the company employed 42,600 people worldwide.
The January 2026 reveal of the EX60 is expected to be a landmark moment, signaling Volvo’s next leap in the premium EV market.
