Swaraj Tractors, a division of the Mahindra Group, has achieved a landmark by rolling out its 25th lakh tractor from its manufacturing facility in Mohali, Punjab. The achievement comes just three years after the company crossed the 20-lakh mark in 2022, underscoring its position as one of the fastest-growing tractor brands in India.

The journey of Swaraj began in 1974 with the launch of the indigenously designed Swaraj 724 in the 20–25 HP category, a symbol of India’s self-reliance during the Green Revolution. Since then, Swaraj has grown fivefold since its first production milestone of 5 lakh tractors in 2002, cementing its reputation for rugged, reliable, and farmer-friendly machines.

The company’s current portfolio features popular models such as the Swaraj 855, 735, 744, 960, 742, 963, the Swaraj Target, and the newly launched Naya Swaraj range. These tractors are designed to meet the diverse needs of Indian farmers, from small holdings to large-scale mechanization, while offering simplicity, durability, and cost efficiency.

Celebrating the milestone, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, M&M Ltd., said:
“Swaraj’s 25 lakh production milestone reflects the trust that generations of farmers have placed in the brand. Born from India’s spirit of self-reliance, Swaraj continues to empower farmers, reinforcing our commitment to transform farming and enrich lives.”

Adding to this, Gaganjot Singh, CEO – Swaraj Division, M&M Ltd., highlighted the emotional bond between Swaraj and Indian farmers:
“Each tractor is more than just a machine; it is a partner in the farmer’s progress. Achieving the 25-lakh mark is a proud moment for our team and a renewed inspiration to support farmers in their journey toward prosperity.”

Over five decades, Swaraj has become synonymous with trust and resilience in rural India. From being the first tractor purchased by many farmers to a generational brand passed down through families, Swaraj continues to play a vital role in India’s agricultural story.
