BMW Group has achieved a major milestone in its electrification journey, delivering its three millionth electrified vehicle worldwide. The milestone vehicle, a BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid built at the Munich plant, was handed over to a customer this week.

Of the three million units sold, over 1.5 million are fully electric, underscoring the company’s rapid progress in e-mobility. In the first half of 2025 alone, more than one in four BMW Group vehicles sold was electrified, highlighting strong demand for both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid models.

“Electrified vehicles are an elementary component of our technology-neutral product portfolio,” said Jochen Goller, BMW AG Board Member for Customer, Brands, and Sales. “This delivery marks another important milestone in our commitment to shaping the future of mobility.”

Europe remains BMW Group’s strongest market for electrified vehicles, accounting for over 60% of global deliveries, with the region’s electrified share now exceeding 40% of total sales. Plug-in hybrids in particular saw a sharp rise in the first half of 2025.

The achievement comes just a month after BMW celebrated its 1.5 millionth fully electric vehicle, a MINI Countryman E, delivered to a customer in Portugal. The company currently offers more than 15 fully electric models and over 10 plug-in hybrids, with flagship models like the revised BMW iX offering ranges of up to 700 km (WLTP).

BMW said it continues to pursue a strategy built on “electric, digital and circular” mobility, with sustainability at the core of its long-term growth.
