Ola Electric, India’s largest pure-play EV manufacturer, has announced that its Gen 3 scooter portfolio has received Certification of Compliance under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the automobile and auto components sector. The certification was granted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, and covers all seven Ola S1 Gen 3 models.
With this achievement, Ola Electric’s entire Gen 2 and Gen 3 lineup is now PLI-certified. The Gen 3 portfolio—comprising S1 Pro 3 kWh, S1 Pro 4 kWh, S1 Pro+ 4 kWh, S1 X 2 kWh, S1 X 3 kWh, S1 X 4 kWh, and S1 X+ 4 kWh—accounts for the majority of the company’s current sales. The certification is expected to significantly boost Ola Electric’s profitability from Q2 FY26 onwards.
“Securing PLI certification for our Gen 3 scooters, which form the bulk of our sales, is a critical step towards profitability,” said a spokesperson for Ola Electric Mobility Limited. “This strengthens our cost structure and margins, enabling us to deliver sustainable growth. With our auto business targeted to turn EBITDA positive, this certification acts as a strong catalyst, ensuring our customers continue to receive best-in-class EVs at competitive prices.”
Under the scheme, Ola Electric will now be eligible for incentives ranging from 13% to 18% of the determined sales value (DSV) until 2028.
The announcement came alongside Ola’s annual ‘Sankalp’ event, where the company unveiled new models powered by the indigenous 4680 Bharat Cell. These include the S1 Pro Sport (5.2 kWh and 4 kWh), S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh), and Roadster X+ (9.1 kWh), priced at ₹1,49,999, ₹1,69,999, and ₹1,89,999 respectively. Deliveries of the S1 Pro Sport will begin in January 2026, while the S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh will roll out starting this Navratri.
