Century Lithium Corp. has announced that Alpha-En Corporation, based in Hopewell Junction, New York, has successfully converted Century Lithium’s lithium carbonate into high-performance battery-grade lithium-metal anodes (Li-MA). The lithium carbonate used in the conversion was sourced from Century Lithium’s wholly owned Angel Island Project in Esmeralda County, Nevada, and processed at the Company’s Demonstration Plant in nearby Nye County.

Alpha-En utilized a sample of 99.8% pure lithium carbonate provided by Century Lithium and applied its proprietary room-temperature conversion technology to produce lithium metal anodes with exceptional areal capacity and extraction efficiency. The pilot test results revealed that the lithium carbonate from Century Lithium not only met but exceeded the quality of battery-grade lithium carbonate from a leading non-domestic commercial supplier—demonstrating the strong potential of the Company’s U.S.-based lithium supply for next-generation battery applications. “We are proud that Century Lithium was selected as a domestic source of lithium for Alpha-En’s program to produce lithium-metal anodes,” said Bill Willoughby, Century Lithium President and CEO. “This collaboration reflects the quality of our material and the strength of our technical capabilities as we continue to support innovation across the US battery materials supply chain.”
