In a bold step to capture Singapore’s underserved ultra-premium mobility segment, Ryde Group Ltd has announced the launch of RydeLUXE 6, a luxury electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle service tailored for high-net-worth individuals and corporate travelers.
The strategic initiative comes on the heels of Ryde’s 40% acquisition of Atoll Discovery Pte Ltd, a key operator of the GAC E9 PHEV fleet. This partnership not only unlocks access to a high-end vehicle lineup but also gives Ryde entry into Atoll’s existing pool of corporate transport contracts and premium clientele.
Targeting a $6.4 Billion Opportunity
Singapore’s shared mobility sector is expected to hit US$6.4 billion by 2040, with the ultra-premium segment — comprising luxury EVs and chauffeur-driven concierge rides — becoming a major growth driver. Ryde projects that RydeLUXE 6 could contribute up to 10% of its total revenue by 2027, tapping into the rising number of affluent households and the government’s green transport agenda.
“This is more than a partnership — it’s an engine for sustained high-margin growth,” said Terence Zou, Founder and CEO of Ryde Group. “RydeLUXE 6 with GAC E9 is the next frontier in our vision to own the premium sustainable mobility space in Singapore.”
Premium Fleet Powered by GAC E9
The GAC E9, a six-seater luxury PHEV, boasts up to 136 km of all-electric range and a combined range exceeding 1,000 km. It supports DC fast charging, reaching 80% charge in just 30 minutes — ideal for executive travel and airport transfers.
Atoll plans to expand the fleet to 100 GAC E9 units by 2026, all of which will be integrated into Ryde’s premium network. The vehicle is already in use across ASEAN and China in VIP segments, ensuring its relevance in Singapore’s hospitality and business landscape.
Driver-Partner Benefits and Service Uplift
To attract and retain top-tier driver-partners, Ryde will offer:
- Preferential leasing rates (~S$4,200/month)
- Monthly bonus incentives up to S$300
- Guaranteed high-value bookings via Atoll’s corporate contracts routed through the Ryde app
This aligns with Ryde’s 0% commission model, empowering drivers with greater earning potential and income stability.
Sustainability Meets Scalability
The launch supports Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, which aims to electrify 50% of its vehicle population. Ryde’s broader EV ambitions are backed by partnerships with Atoll and SEV, building an ecosystem that includes fleet leasing, infrastructure, and mobility solutions — with an eye on expanding into other Southeast Asian markets. “With Ryde, we now have the platform to scale our premium EV services while directly benefiting Singapore’s luxury travel sector,” said Steven Kwek, Director at Atoll.
