E-Cite Motors, the low-volume American EV automaker formerly known as VaporBrands International, has unveiled a groundbreaking electric driveline upgrade that promises to shake up the performance EV landscape. The dramatic overhaul includes a revolutionary electric motor capable of reaching up to 26,000 RPM and delivering 4,000 Nm of torque, along with a high-capacity, lightweight 90 kWh dual battery pack.

The new powertrain will be integrated across E-Cite’s trio of electric sportscars:

  • EV-GT – a two-seater targa-top performance coupe,
  • EV-C3 – a retro-modern EV nod to an American icon, and
  • EV-DT – an electrified tribute to the classic 1954 Kaiser-Darrin roadster.

Each model is built on E-Cite’s proprietary modular aluminum chassis, engineered for maximum flexibility and rapid integration of new driveline technologies.

EV Power Reimagined

The upgraded Zero Emissions driveline replaces the previously sourced IDM 190 system and significantly improves performance metrics:

  • RPM increase from 12,000 to 20,000 in the base model, and 26,000 in the performance edition
  • Instantaneous 4,000 Nm torque from a lightweight, 85 kg permanent-magnet motor
  • 90 kWh dual battery with 12.5% more capacity than the prior Kore pack
  • Reduced weight and increased charging speed, boosting both range and power output

“This leap in RPM—from 12k to 26k—is a game-changer,” said Barry Henthorn, CEO of E-Cite Motors. “It gives our sportscars explosive acceleration and higher top-end speed, without the bulk of traditional drivetrains.”

Built for Agility, Designed for Speed

The new driveline isn’t just about raw numbers. Thanks to the lightweight modular chassis and a design-first approach, E-Cite ensures that vehicle handling and weight distribution are equally enhanced. The shared architecture allows the company to iterate rapidly—an edge that Henthorn says traditional automakers simply can’t match.

Gene Langmesser, COO and auto industry veteran, emphasized the company’s strategy: “Our modular platform lets us adapt on the fly. Whether we’re dropping in a 1,500+ horsepower setup or updating battery chemistries, our cars evolve fast.”

A New Era of American EV Performance

This announcement aligns with E-Cite’s broader mission to reinvent the American sports car—melding classic design with cutting-edge EV performance. Unlike mass-market OEMs, E-Cite leverages low-volume manufacturing agility to respond swiftly to advancements in electric propulsion.

With this major technological leap, E-Cite is poised to challenge both legacy and next-gen automakers, offering high-end performance with rapid development cycles and bespoke engineering.
