The Volkswagen Group reported a robust 46.7% year-on-year increase in global all-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries for the first half of 2025, underscoring its growing momentum in the EV market. According to delivery figures released today, the Group delivered 465,500 BEVs globally by the end of June, up from 317,200 during the same period in 2024.

Europe emerged as the strongest growth region with BEV deliveries soaring by 89%, representing 347,900 units, cementing Volkswagen Group’s leadership in the European electric mobility space with a market share of approximately 28%.

“This performance is a clear signal that our model offensive and electrification strategy are resonating with customers, especially in Europe,” said Marco Schubert, Member of the Group’s Extended Executive Committee for Sales. “With one in five vehicles delivered in Western Europe now fully electric, we are steadily advancing toward our decarbonization goals.”

Key Highlights:

  • Total vehicle deliveries for H1 2025 rose 1.3% to 4.41 million units globally.
  • Strong regional gains were reported in South America (+18.3%), Central and Eastern Europe (+8.5%), and Middle East/Africa (+13.4%), offsetting declines in China (-2.3%) and North America (-6.7%).
  • Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV) deliveries also jumped 41%, reaching 192,300 units worldwide, driven by demand for second-generation hybrid technologies.

BEV Sales by Brand (Jan–Jun 2025):

  • Volkswagen Passenger Cars: 192,600 (+14.3%)
  • Škoda: 73,000 (+147.8%)
  • CUPRA: 37,600 (+105.3%)
  • Audi: 101,400 (+32.3%)
  • Porsche: 34,200 (+279%)
  • Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles: 25,500 (+73.4%)

Best-selling BEV models included the Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 (84,900 units), ID.3 (60,700 units), Audi Q4 e-tron (44,600 units), and the newly launched Audi Q6 e-tron (36,500 units).

Incoming Orders Surge:

Volkswagen Group recorded a 19% increase in incoming orders in Western Europe, with BEV orders alone rising by 62%, led by strong customer response to new models like the VW ID.7 Tourer, CUPRA Terramar, Skoda Elroq, and Audi Q6 e-tron.

Despite intense competition in China, where BEV deliveries dropped 34.5%, and a challenging macroeconomic environment in North America, the Group’s positive performance in Europe and South America underlines its strategic resilience and successful regional diversification.

With its growing EV portfolio, rising order volumes, and strategic global positioning, Volkswagen Group continues to accelerate its transition toward sustainable mobility and reaffirm its leadership in the next era of automotive innovation.
