Kia Canada has officially announced the arrival of the all-new Kia EV5, a compact electric SUV that will be exclusive to the Canadian market in North America. Set to launch in Spring 2026, the EV5 will be one of three new affordable EVs from the brand as it ramps up electrification efforts in the region.

Produced at Kia’s Gwangju Autoland plant in South Korea, the EV5 aims to make electric mobility more accessible without compromising on design, performance, or innovation.

A Bold, Nature-Inspired Desig

Built under Kia’s design philosophy ‘Opposites United’, the EV5 takes visual inspiration from nature and human interaction, showcasing a commanding silhouette. Key exterior features include:

  • Signature EV ‘Tiger Face’ grille
  • 3D star map lighting pattern
  • Sculpted aerodynamic lines
  • Choice of 18″, 19″, or 20″ alloy wheels
  • Eight color options, including two new shades: Magma Red and Frost Blue

Modern Cabin, Environmentally Mindful

Inside, the EV5 blends sporty sophistication with eco-conscious innovation, featuring:

  • A nearly 30-inch panoramic display
  • Five-passenger seating with ample legroom and shoulder space
  • Mood-adjustable ambient lighting
  • Flat-folding second-row seats
  • Generous cargo capacity with an added front trunk (frunk)
  • Interior materials sourced from 10 sustainable components

Performance & Charging Options

EV5 buyers will have flexibility in both powertrains and range:

  • 60.3 kWh standard range battery
  • 81.4 kWh long-range option
  • Available in FWD and AWD, optimized for Canadian weather
  • Equipped with North American Charging Standard (NACS) port for broader access to DC fast charging stations

Positioning in Canadian Market

The EV5 enters Canada’s largest vehicle segment, providing a mid-size EV SUV alternative that’s both practical and stylish. Kia Canada aims to accelerate EV adoption by lowering the entry barrier for consumers seeking affordable electric options—building on the success of the Kia EV6 and EV9.
