Electrovaya Inc., a leader in lithium-ion battery technology, has announced a landmark Commercial Supply Agreement with Janus Electric Holdings Limited, an Australian innovator in the electrification of heavy transport vehicles.
Under this agreement, Electrovaya will deliver its Infinity high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems, designed with proprietary Infinity cell technology, to power Janus Electric’s swappable battery platform for Class 8 electric trucks. This collaboration aims to convert diesel-powered freight vehicles into zero-emission electric trucks, particularly for Australia’s long-haul trucking industry known for carrying some of the heaviest loads across extreme distances.
Class 8 trucks are among the most difficult vehicles to electrify,” said Dr. Raj DasGupta, CEO of Electrovaya. “This agreement validates our technology’s strength in performance, safety, and long cycle life—key attributes for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Battery Tech Built for Tough Roads
Electrovaya’s Infinity battery systems offer:
- Superior safety
- Extended cycle life
- High performance under extreme conditions
These attributes are critical for Janus Electric’s modular truck conversion systems, which rely on quick-swap battery packs to ensure minimal downtime for freight operators.
This partnership gives Janus access to world-class battery systems that meet the rigorous needs of the freight industry,” said Ian Campbell, CEO of Janus Electric. “Together, we’re leading the charge to decarbonize heavy transport.
A Shared Vision for Sustainable Transport
Both companies are aligned in their commitment to decarbonizing industrial transportation through scalable, innovative electrification technologies. With global demand surging for clean-energy mobility solutions, the collaboration sets a strong foundation for expansion across major freight corridors and logistics networks.
