VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer making waves in global markets, has officially opened its first authorized dealership in California, marking a major milestone in the company’s U.S. expansion strategy. The new location, strategically set in San Diego, is the first of many planned as VinFast transitions fully to a franchise dealership model across all 50 states.
The San Diego dealership, operated in partnership with Sunroad Automotive Group, will begin operations this month. It will showcase VinFast’s flagship all-electric SUVs—the VF 8, a mid-size 5-seater, and the VF 9, a full-size 7-seater—offering sales, leasing, and comprehensive after-sales services, including maintenance, repair, and warranty support.

VinFast’s models are designed to attract a broad consumer base with competitive pricing and financing options. The VF 8 starts at $39,900 (Eco) and $44,900 (Plus), with lease programs from $269/month. The VF 9, positioned in the luxury segment, starts at $62,900, with leases from $449/month. Both vehicles are offered with 0% interest financing and come with an industry-leading 10-year/125,000-mile vehicle warranty and unlimited mileage battery warranty.
Scaling Across the U.S. and Beyond
With over 30 dealerships established across 15 U.S. states, including Texas, Florida, and New York, VinFast’s footprint is rapidly expanding. The company plans to further intensify dealership partnerships in California, leveraging local expertise and infrastructure to deepen market penetration.
