In a groundbreaking announcement, Chevrolet has introduced the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, marking a historic leap in American automotive engineering. Touted as the most advanced and powerful Corvette to date, the ZR1X boasts an electrified all-wheel-drive system and a combined 1,250 horsepower, redefining the hypercar category.

At the heart of the ZR1X is the hand-built LT7 5.5L twin-turbo V8, delivering a monstrous 1,064 hp to the rear wheels. Complementing this internal combustion beast is a front-axle electric motor, contributing 186 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque, resulting in 0-60 mph acceleration under 2 seconds and a quarter-mile time below 9 seconds.

“From day one, we designed the mid-engine Corvette architecture with ZR1X in mind,” said Ken Morris, GM’s Senior VP, emphasizing the revolutionary platform underpinning the ZR1X.

Electrified Performance Meets Precision Engineering

The Corvette ZR1X evolves from the AWD foundation laid by the 2024 E-Ray. Utilizing a 1.9 kWh battery pack, the electric system provides rapid energy bursts and recharges through regenerative braking, without needing external charging. The AWD system blends V8 and electric power seamlessly, optimizing traction, speed, and balance up to 160 mph.

Built for both endurance and explosiveness, the ZR1X features advanced drive modes — Endurance, Qualifying, and Push-to-Pass — tuned to deliver power based on the driver’s intent and track conditions.

Track-Ready With Street Comfort

With carbon-ceramic rotors, Alcon 10-piston front brakes, and available ZTK Performance Package, the ZR1X is as potent on winding circuits as it is comfortable on daily drives. The magnetic ride control and optional Carbon Aero package provide up to 1,200 lbs of downforce, enabling sharp handling and high-speed stability.

Customers can choose between coupe or hardtop convertible body styles, each featuring a newly designed three-screen interior layout, refined materials, and a performance-oriented console interface.

American Muscle, Electrified

Built proudly in Bowling Green, Kentucky, every ZR1X will feature a hand-assembled LT7 engine crafted by GM’s Performance Build Center experts. The ZR1X stands as a symbol of America’s growing edge in the global performance car market, combining raw muscle with advanced electrification.
