FCL Components Europe B.V. has announced the launch of its latest innovation in high-voltage switching technology — the FTR-E1J 20A, a robust, tab terminal-type DC relay designed for advanced electric and fuel vehicle systems, as well as cutting-edge energy storage and power generation solutions.
Building on the proven FTR-E1 series, the new FTR-E1J 20A relay delivers up to 20A at 800 VDC and 10A at 1,000 VDC, offering high-voltage switching performance with non-polarized contact terminals — an engineering advantage that removes the need for specific polarity connections and enhances application flexibility.
Unlike traditional PCB-mounted relays, the FTR-E1J is screw-mounted, eliminating the need for printed circuit boards and simplifying mechanical integration into complex systems.
Key Features and Benefits:
- High Voltage Switching: Handles 20A at 800 VDC and 10A at 1,000 VDC with low power consumption (0.9W at rated voltage).
- Non-Polarized Contacts: Ideal for bidirectional current flow in charge/discharge circuits.
- Arc Suppression Technology: Extends contact life and improves safety under high-load conditions.
- High Insulation Performance: 5,000VDC between coil and contacts, 2,500VDC between open contacts.
- Rugged Design: Plastic sealed, RoHS compliant, hydrogen-free, and compact (28.3 x 43.6 x 36.1 mm, 85g).
This makes the FTR-E1J 20A a reliable component for demanding automotive and industrial applications including HEV, PHEV, FCV, EV pre-charge circuits, Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) systems, PTC heaters, quick charge stations, photovoltaic systems, and hybrid construction machinery.
“By delivering high switching performance in a compact, non-polarized and screw-mounted package, the FTR-E1J 20A is tailored for the growing demands of electric mobility and sustainable energy systems,” a company spokesperson noted.
The product reflects FCL Components’ ongoing commitment to innovation in energy-efficient, high-voltage solutions designed for the future of transportation and smart energy infrastructure.
