Iberdrola | bp pulse has launched Spain’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging megahub at the Nevada Shopping Centre in Armilla, Granada. The facility is now operational and provides a major boost to electric mobility infrastructure in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Andalusia’s Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela; the Mayor of Armilla, Loli Cañavate; the President of General de Galerías Comerciales, Tomás Olivo López; and Pablo Pirles, General Manager of Iberdrola | bp pulse. Pirles emphasized the hub’s strategic role in supporting the regional shift toward cleaner transport.
Pablo Pirles, CEO of Iberdrola | bp pulse, said that “the launch of this megahub in Granada, the largest in the country in terms of public charging, not only is in line with our expansion strategy, but reinforces our commitment to Andalusia as a key area for the development of electric mobility. This benchmark infrastructure drives a fast and reliable charging network that allows citizens to move without emissions and with locally generated renewable energy.”
The megahub features 70 charging points, including 8 ultra-fast chargers at 150 kW, 6 fast chargers at 50 kW, and 56 standard chargers at 22 kW. Positioned near key transport routes—the A-92 and A-44—it serves as a key junction for EV travel across southern Spain, linking cities such as Granada, Seville, Jaén, Málaga, Almería, and Córdoba.
Located within Nevada Shopping—the largest shopping complex in the region with over 300 retail outlets and 20 million annual visitors—the station allows drivers to charge their vehicles while shopping or enjoying leisure activities. The facility also includes free Wi-Fi, 6,000 parking spaces, and accessible features for people with reduced mobility, aiming to deliver a convenient and user-friendly charging experience.
