In a strategic move to accelerate India’s transition to sustainable transportation, Eastman Auto & Power Ltd. (EAPL) has entered into a landmark partnership with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles (Sahanianand E-Vehicles Pvt. Ltd.) to advance the deployment of lithium-ion battery technology for electric three-wheelers. The two industry leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen India’s fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.
Under the agreement, Eastman will supply lithium-ion batteries worth ₹50 crore annually to Vande Bharat E-Vehicles. These batteries will power a fleet of E-Rickshaws, designed to make EV adoption more accessible and cost-effective for commercial drivers and fleet operators nationwide.
