More than a month after its world premiere in Shanghai, the Mercedes-Benz Vision V is continuing to generate buzz as it prepares to embark on its international Grand Tour. The first stop is Dubai at the end of May, where the luxury show car will be showcased to a global audience.
The Vision V represents a bold new direction for Mercedes-Benz in the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment. Designed as a high-end, chauffeur-driven limousine, the vehicle emphasizes a “Private Lounge” experience with a focus on exceptional comfort, style, and exclusivity. The concept offers a preview of what’s to come in the company’s future luxury van lineup, particularly the upcoming Mercedes-Benz VLS model.
A New Era of Modular Luxury Vans Begins in 2026
Starting in 2026, Mercedes-Benz will introduce a newly developed, modular, and scalable Van Architecture that will underpin the next generation of its MPV and commercial vehicle offerings. This new platform will clearly differentiate between private-use Grand Limousines and utility-focused transporters, allowing for customized solutions based on design, features, and functionality.
The future privately positioned MPVs will be branded as Mercedes-Benz VLE and Mercedes-Benz VLS:
- VLE: With seating for up to eight, this versatile model will serve family, leisure, and VIP shuttle needs.
- VLS: Positioned at the pinnacle of automotive luxury, the VLS will define a new top-end segment within the MPV market.
This strategic move reflects Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to customer-centric innovation, design leadership, and expansion into premium segments beyond traditional passenger cars.
