In a landmark move signaling its commitment to Latin America, Chinese auto giant GAC Group officially launched its brand in Brazil with a high-profile event at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo. The event marked the unveiling of GAC’s “Brazil Action Plan,” the first major implementation of its “One GAC 2.0” global strategy in the region.
GAC introduced five advanced electric and hybrid models—AION V, AION Y, HYPTEC HT, GS4 HEV, and AION ES—designed to cater to Brazil’s diverse mobility needs and rising demand for clean energy vehicles.
The event drew the participation of Brazilian and Chinese government officials, business leaders, and industry representatives, all bearing witness to a new era of China-Brazil automotive cooperation. Music legend Gilberto Gil was named the first GAC vehicle owner in Brazil, adding a cultural flourish to the historic occasion.
GAC also signed a comprehensive strategic partnership with Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia (Inmetro), aiming to enhance Brazil’s automotive standards and competitiveness. The collaboration underscores GAC’s focus on long-term investment and localized innovation—“in Brazil, for Brazil.”
The lineup offers something for every Brazilian consumer:
- AION V, AION Y, and HYPTEC HT: Sleek, intelligent, long-range electric SUVs ideal for urban lifestyles and environmentally conscious drivers.
- GS4 HEV: A hybrid SUV boasting a robust powertrain and a combined range of over 1,000 km, blending performance and practicality.
- AION ES: A flagship electric sedan tailored for shared mobility, signaling GAC’s intent to partner with ride-hailing platforms in the near future.
“These vehicles reflect our core pillars of top-tier quality and pioneering technology,” a GAC spokesperson said. “We are offering Brazilian consumers a more intelligent, safe, and sustainable driving experience.”
The company’s three major product brands—GAC, AION, and HYPTEC—are now fully deployed in Brazil, covering a wide spectrum of use cases including family transport, daily commuting, and shared mobility solutions. The move aligns with Brazil’s ongoing green energy transition and growing demand for smart mobility.
With this launch, GAC sets the stage for deepening its roots in Latin America, bringing cutting-edge automotive innovation and strategic economic cooperation to one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.
