Mercedes-Benz now offers customers in Germany the ability to purchase and pay for e-Vignettes directly from their vehicle via the Mercedes-Benz Store. This digital solution allows drivers to bypass border stops and payment queues, making international travel more convenient and efficient.
The service is initially available for travel to Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Hungary, with plans to expand coverage to additional countries in the future. By digitizing the vignette purchasing process, Mercedes-Benz enhances the travel experience, saving customers time and improving overall comfort.
Easy and Secure Process – All From the Vehicle
Purchasing an e-Vignette is simple and can be completed directly through the vehicle’s infotainment system:
- Access the Mercedes-Benz Store through the infotainment display.
- Select the e-Vignettes section, where available countries are listed.
- Choose the destination country and validity period.
- Enter or confirm the vehicle’s license plate number.
- Authenticate the purchase using two-factor authentication, either via the vehicle’s fingerprint sensor or a connected smartphone.
- Payment is processed automatically using the credit or debit card stored in the customer’s Mercedes me profile.
Once the purchase is complete, the e-Vignette can be viewed within the infotainment system. Customers also receive a confirmation email with a receipt and the vignette in PDF format.
Streamlined Payment Experience
To make the purchasing process even more seamless, Mercedes-Benz customers can pre-store their preferred payment method (credit or debit card) in their Mercedes me profile. This eliminates the need to re-enter payment details for each transaction.
