Audi has introduced a new generation of its popular A6 plug-in hybrid models—offering both the Avant and Sedan variants in two power outputs (220 kW and 270 kW), with a pure electric range of up to 106 kilometers. Available for order in Germany, the refreshed lineup emphasizes both sustainability and performance, thanks to a host of advanced features and engineering upgrades.
The newly upgraded 25.9 kWh (net 20.7 kWh) high-voltage battery delivers approximately 45% more capacity than its predecessor, enabling a longer electric-only range and increased overall efficiency. All variants come standard with quattro all-wheel drive and now feature all-wheel steering for improved handling and maneuverability, especially in urban environments.
The 220 kW variants offer 450 Nm of torque and a 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.0 seconds, while the top-tier 270 kW models generate 500 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. All models are electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
Audi has also integrated a more intelligent hybrid management system. Drivers can select between “EV” and “Hybrid” modes, optimizing battery usage based on driving conditions or route navigation. Recuperation levels can now be adjusted using steering-wheel paddles, offering up to 88 kW of regenerative braking power.
Inside, the cabins feature premium comforts like three-zone automatic climate control, acoustic improvements that reduce interior noise by up to 30%, and optional acoustic glazing. Top-end models also come standard with S line exterior and interior equipment, sports suspension, 19-inch wheels, and red brake calipers, enhancing both aesthetics and performance.
The starting prices in Germany are:
- €65,800 for the A6 Sedan e-hybrid quattro (220 kW)
- €68,300 for the A6 Avant e-hybrid quattro (220 kW)
- €75,050 for the A6 Sedan e-hybrid quattro (270 kW)
- €77,550 for the A6 Avant e-hybrid quattro (270 kW)
The new Audi A6 e-hybrid quattro models represent a significant leap in plug-in hybrid technology, targeting environmentally conscious drivers who seek luxury, power, and practicality in one package. The models are set to hit the roads this summer.
