Wuling Motors is set to electrify the stage at the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) 2025, confirming its participation with an exciting lineup of innovations. Held at JIExpo Kemayoran, the event will mark the debut of Wuling’s newest electric vehicle model, alongside a fleet of test drive units.
Brian Gomgom, Senior Manager of Wuling Motors Brand Communication, revealed during the PEVS 2025 Press Conference that Wuling will display a total of seven vehicle units, including one surprise model cloaked in secrecy until the show.
“And there is indeed one surprise, which (the dividing rope) is black. This is what we will display or send for the first time at the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show 2025,” Gomgom teased.
Adding to the excitement, six vehicles will be made available for public test drives, allowing visitors firsthand experience of Wuling’s leading-edge electric offerings.
Spotlight on the Wuling Yangguang EV
Building anticipation, Wuling Indonesia’s Instagram account has dropped teaser images hinting at the new model’s headlamp design. Strong speculation points to the launch of the Yangguang EV — an electric van already introduced in China.
Boasting generous dimensions of 4980 mm x 1800 mm x 1970 mm, the Yangguang EV is built for practicality, offering a two-passenger configuration with expansive cargo space. The design emphasizes functionality, featuring a streamlined front body with horizontally elongated headlights and a decorative logo, significantly improving safety over its predecessor, the flat-faced Wuling Rongguang.
Advanced Battery Technology
Powering the Yangguang EV is Wuling’s innovative Red No. 1 lithium iron phosphate battery pack, available in two variants offering impressive ranges of 230 km and 300 km per charge. Energy is channeled to a rear-mounted electric motor capable of producing up to 80 hp (60 kW), delivering robust performance for an electric commercial van.
The battery pack also incorporates a smart cooling system using ultra-thin structural technology, achieving a compact total thickness of just 148 mm — ensuring enhanced efficiency and thermal management during operations.
Driving Toward an Electric Future
With its strong showing at PEVS 2025, Wuling Motors continues to strengthen its presence in Indonesia’s rapidly growing EV market. The introduction of the Yangguang EV, combining practicality, innovative battery technology, and enhanced safety, underscores Wuling’s commitment to delivering forward-thinking mobility solutions.
