Ergon Labs, an emerging innovator in light EV powertrain technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd. (OSPL), one of India’s fastest-growing electric vehicle manufacturers. As part of the collaboration, OSPL will be the first OEM to integrate Ergon’s Integrated Power Converter (IPC) technology into its electric three-wheeler lineup, beginning with the L5 segment.

In a significant endorsement of the technology, OSPL has placed an order worth ₹50 crore for Ergon’s IPC units to power its upcoming vehicle fleet. The IPC combines the on-board charger and motor controller into a single compact unit, delivering enhanced performance, improved reliability, and faster charging capabilities.

Key benefits of the IPC include 30% (17 degrees) gradeability with extended peak torque operation, 50% faster charging enabling 50 km range addition in under an hour, and a 30% lower system cost compared to conventional setups. It also simplifies vehicle wiring and boosts overall efficiency. Rigorous testing across 50,000 km has been completed, with full certification expected shortly.

The first batch of 2,000 IPC-powered vehicles is slated for deployment in FY26, targeting the L5 Passenger segment — a market rapidly expanding with aggregators like Rapido, Ola, and Uber. The companies are also co-developing a high-performance L5 Cargo vehicle capable of handling over 500 kg payloads, aimed at replacing diesel three-wheelers.

Further deepening the alliance, Mr. Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSPL, has made a strategic investment in Ergon Labs and will join its advisory board.

“This partnership is a pivotal step in bringing breakthrough innovations to India’s EV space,” said Ashwin Ramanujam, CEO, Ergon Labs. Mr. Narang added, “Ergon’s world-class engineering will help drive environmental and economic impact across India’s mobility landscape.”
