International Motors, LLC has unveiled the latest model in its electric vehicle portfolio—the International® eRH™ Series, an all-electric Class 8 regional haul tractor. Engineered for heavy-duty regional and drayage applications, the eRH Series comes in both 4×2 and 6×4 axle configurations and delivers a range of up to 300 miles, based on configuration, battery size, and operational use.
Justina Morosin, Senior Vice President of Sales and Field Operations at International, expressed enthusiasm about the addition of the eRH Series to the company’s Class 8 battery-electric offerings. She noted that the new model complements International’s existing electric vehicle lineup and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation. Morosin emphasized that International is dedicated to delivering a seamless customer experience, from purchase through long-term support.
The eRH Series, developed from the reliable diesel-powered RH Series, is tailored for productivity in local and regional haul operations. It boasts a 113-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab (BBC) measurement for enhanced forward visibility and offers industry-leading wheelbase options for superior maneuverability. Equipped with the Bendix Fusion integrated driver assistance system, the eRH enhances road safety. Its ergonomic cabin design includes spacious interiors and intuitively placed controls for driver convenience.
Michael Grahe, EVP of R&D at International, expressed pride in the collaborative efforts behind the eRH launch. He noted that the R&D and cross-functional teams worked closely with customers to ensure the eRH meets current business needs and remains future-ready amid the evolving commercial transportation landscape.
The eRH offers lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery options with usable capacities ranging from 300kWh to 500kWh, delivering high energy density in a compact design. This enables a lower curb weight, helping maximize payload and profitability. Its tandem and single eAxle configurations simplify the drivetrain and boost efficiency, resulting in reduced operating costs. The eRH also features three levels of driver-selectable regenerative braking to extend range and adapt to various driving preferences.
Paul Rosa, senior vice president of Procurement and Fleet Planning at Penske, stated that the company has made significant investments in infrastructure, operations, and training to prepare for the adoption of battery electric vehicles. He expressed enthusiasm about being among the first to showcase the capabilities of the new eRH.
International provides consulting services to support customers with infrastructure readiness, onboarding, and grant assistance. Its maintenance Service Contracts ensure comprehensive support through a wide dealer network. International® Financial offers competitive financing for electric vehicles, chargers, and more, along with a no-interest Payment Program for Service Contracts, allowing affordable monthly payments.
