Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has once again demonstrated its design excellence on the global stage, winning two of the most prestigious international design accolades. The company’s NC750X large sport motorcycle secured the Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the Product Design category, while the EM1 e:, Honda’s compact electric scooter, was honored with the iF Design Award 2025 in the same category.

This marks the sixth consecutive year Honda has received a Red Dot Design Award and the third time since 1997 that it has been recognized with an iF Design Award — affirming the brand’s commitment to innovative, user-centric, and sustainable product design.

Award-Winning Motorcycles
NC750X
Known for its versatility, the NC750X blends touring enjoyment with urban practicality. Its 745cc in-line 2-cylinder engine delivers a punchy yet fuel-efficient ride, while its low center of gravity and integrated luggage storage offer exceptional ease of use.

The award jury highlighted its adventure-inspired, sharp design, enhanced by a pioneering environmental innovation — a fairing constructed from plant-derived bioplastics and recycled materials, making it the world’s first motorcycle exterior component of its kind. The design not only supports Honda’s sustainability goals but also retains vivid coloring and dynamic styling without the use of paint.

EM1 e:
Targeted at younger, eco-conscious urban riders, the EM1 e: is Honda’s take on a “just right” personal electric scooter. It runs on a Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, a swappable battery system offering clean and quiet mobility.

Its minimalist and sleek design maximizes space efficiency and urban appeal. High-brightness LED lighting and a flush-surface headlight contribute to both safety and a futuristic aesthetic. These features embody Honda’s vision of merging form and function for daily usability.

Global Recognition
The Red Dot Award, established in 1955, and the iF Design Award, established in 1954, are among the most prestigious honors in the global design community. Judged across criteria including innovation, ergonomics, and sustainability, these awards celebrate outstanding design achievements across multiple disciplines.

Toshinobu Minami, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Honda’s Design Center, remarked:

“We are very honored to receive the Red Dot Design Award for the sixth consecutive year, and this year, we also received the iF Design Award. We believe that this is the result of people resonating with Honda Design’s passion for enriching lives through a human-centric approach. Honda will continue to create new values that surprise and inspire people.”

As Honda continues its drive toward sustainable and accessible mobility, these design awards spotlight the company’s ability to innovate not just technologically but aesthetically — delivering products that are as thoughtful as they are thrilling.
