In a remarkable feat, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has announced that its flagship SUV, the Hyundai CRETA, has emerged as the highest-selling model in the Indian automobile market for March 2025, clocking 18,059 unit sales in a single month.

Continuing its dominance, the CRETA also retained its crown as India’s No.1 SUV in Q4 FY 2024-25 (Jan–Mar) with cumulative sales of 52,898 units. For the full financial year, CRETA registered a record-breaking 1,94,871 units, making it the third highest-selling passenger vehicle in India and marking an impressive 20% year-on-year growth — the highest-ever annual sales for the model since its debut.

CRETA Celebrates a Decade of Success
2025 also marks a decade of Hyundai CRETA on Indian roads. Since its launch in 2015, the SUV has established a firm emotional connection with over 1.2 million customers, becoming a hallmark of style, trust, and aspirational mobility.

Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, expressed his pride on the milestone:

“The Hyundai CRETA continues to set new benchmarks in India’s automotive landscape. Its consistent brand leadership and now as the highest-selling model in March 2025 is a symbol of the strong emotional bond it shares with Indian customers. The launch of CRETA Electric has further expanded the brand’s appeal, paving the way for a more sustainable future.”

The CRETA’s strong performance also contributed to a shift in HMIL’s overall product mix, with SUVs now accounting for 68.5% of total sales in FY 2024-25, up from 63.2% the previous year.

A Legacy of Leadership in the SUV Segment
Over the years, the Hyundai CRETA has continually raised the bar in design, performance, and technology. With its recent electric variant launch, the CRETA is not just riding the wave of change — it is helping drive the future of sustainable and smart mobility in India. As it enters its next decade, the CRETA is poised to remain an enduring symbol of India’s evolving automotive aspirations.
