The Volkswagen Group has kicked off 2025 with a strong performance, especially in its electric vehicle (EV) segment. According to figures released today, the Group’s all-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries in Europe more than doubled in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, marking a 113% surge to 158,100 vehicles.
Global Performance Overview
Volkswagen Group delivered 2.13 million vehicles globally between January and March 2025, a 1.4% increase from the previous year. Regional growth in North America (+4.4%), South America (+16.6%), and Europe (+3.7%) offset the 7.1% decline in China, where market competition remains intense.

EV Leadership in Europe
With a market share of approximately 26%, Volkswagen Group remains the clear market leader in Europe’s BEV segment. EVs now account for 19% of the Group’s total vehicle volume in Western Europe, up from just 9.5% in Q1 2024.
Incoming Orders Surge
In Western Europe, incoming vehicle orders soared by 29%, totaling nearly 980,000 vehicles. Of these, BEV orders rose by an impressive 64%, driven by popular new models such as:
