At the upcoming Bauma 2025 exhibition, Volvo Trucks will showcase its cutting-edge sustainable transport solutions, featuring battery-electric powertrains, hydrogen fuel cells, and renewable fuels such as biogas. These technologies form Volvo’s three-path strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, supporting a greener construction industry both now and in the future.

Leading the Charge in Electric Construction Transport
Volvo Trucks continues to lead the global battery-electric truck segment, holding a 51% market share in Europe and 40% in North America, with over 4,900 electric trucks delivered worldwide. Many of these trucks are already in operation within the construction industry, covering a broad range of applications, including transport trucks, cement mixers, concrete pumps, tippers, cranes, and hook lifts.

“I am very proud that we have the widest range of electric trucks for the construction industry,” said Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. “A contractor can buy almost any truck as electric from Volvo today and be sure that it will offer excellent productivity and performance.”

Electric trucks offer clear advantages in the construction sector, including zero exhaust emissions and significantly reduced noise levels, benefiting both workers on-site and communities near construction projects.

Expanding Renewable Fuel Options
Beyond electric powertrains, Volvo will highlight its trucks capable of running on renewable fuels such as biogas and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). All Volvo trucks are certified for HVO and biodiesel B100, providing immediate CO₂ reduction options for customers looking to transition toward sustainability.

“We have a broad offering of zero-emission solutions, which means we can support our customers wherever they are on their decarbonization journey,” Alm added. “Our trucks that run on biogas, biodiesel, or HVO are excellent options for those who want to start reducing emissions today.”

A One-Stop Shop for Sustainable Construction
Volvo’s presence at Bauma will emphasize its capability to support fully fossil-free construction operations by offering both zero-emission trucks and construction machines.

“We have a unique position as a partner providing both premium trucks and premium construction machines,” Alm stated. “This one-stop-shop solution will be highly attractive for many companies looking to transition toward sustainable operations.”
