JBM Ecolife Mobility Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited, has won a major contract to supply 1,021 electric buses under the Government of India’s PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 initiative. The total order, valued at approximately ₹5,500 crore, reinforces JBM’s leadership in electric mobility and aligns with India’s vision of a cleaner and more sustainable public transport system. The buses will be deployed across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana.

Under this tender, JBM Ecolife Mobility will handle the end-to-end execution of the project, backed by a Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) to ensure timely payments to electric bus operators. Over their 12-year deployment, these e-buses are expected to clock over 32 billion passenger kilometers and reduce carbon emissions by more than 1 billion metric tons.

A Major Leap in Sustainable Public Transport
Speaking on the milestone, Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of JBM Auto, stated: “We are proud to be part of this transformative initiative that aims to revolutionize public mobility across India. This significant order strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class, sustainable, and technologically advanced mobility solutions. With a strong focus on innovation and infrastructure, JBM is dedicated to making electric transport more accessible, efficient, and environmentally friendly.”

This year marks a decade of JBM Auto’s presence in the public mobility sector. Over the next 3-4 years, the company aims to serve over 20 billion passengers and cover 3 billion e-kilometers, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable travel experiences.

Expanding Global Footprint in EV Manufacturing
JBM Auto has already deployed around 2,000 electric buses across India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With this latest order, the company’s robust order book now exceeds 11,000 electric buses in various stages of execution. Strengthening its global presence, JBM has also established the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility (outside China), located in Delhi-NCR, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.

The PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 aims to accelerate the adoption of electric buses and strengthen public transportation in urban and semi-urban areas. With this order, JBM Auto reaffirms its commitment to leading the transition towards a cleaner, greener, and more efficient public transport ecosystem in India and beyond.
