A true icon of small cars, the Volkswagen Polo has been winning hearts for 50 years, with over 20 million units sold worldwide. To mark this milestone, Volkswagen is showcasing two special first-generation Polo models at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2025: a 1975 Polo L and a 1977 hill climb Polo.
The 1975 Polo L represents the early days of this compact yet versatile car. With its Oceanic Blue finish, a 0.9-liter engine delivering 40 PS, and a lightweight 685 kg build, it was designed to be functional, reliable, and efficient. The L trim added subtle luxury with side trim strips, a two-speed blower, and a carpeted interior. With a spacious 900-liter cargo capacity, it lived up to its original slogan: Small size. Large space.
Since then, the Polo has evolved through six generations, maintaining its reputation for quality, innovation, and practicality. Today, it remains a bestseller both nationally and internationally.Volkswagen Celebrates 50 Years of the Polo at Bremen Classic Motorshow 2025
