Hyderabad-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer PURE EV has entered into a strategic partnership with French climate-tech firm BE Energy to develop advanced lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery conditioning technology. The collaboration is expected to lead to long-term cost savings for electric vehicle (EV) owners by reducing the need for new batteries through a reconditioning process that rejuvenates existing ones.

The alliance will introduce BE Energy’s patented high-tech battery reconditioning equipment to the Indian market, combining it with PURE EV’s patented BatricsFaraday technology. This initiative aims to support the decarbonisation of electric mobility in India by enhancing sustainability.

The partnership also marks the launch of BE Energy’s operations in India. The first facility under the collaboration will be established in Karmanghat IDA, Hyderabad, in the next fiscal year, in line with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Nishanth Dongari, Founder and MD of PURE EV, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of creating durable electric vehicles and aims to provide resale value confidence for both financial institutions and end users. Bertrand Coste, Founder and Global President of BE Energy, highlighted that the collaboration reinforces the company’s commitment to driving sustainability in the EV sector and reducing the carbon footprint through battery reconditioning.
