Audi has unveiled the groundbreaking Q6 e-tron offroad concept at the World Cup weekend in Kitzbühel, Austria, signaling a bold leap into the future of electric off-road mobility. This electrifying prototype, built on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), combines cutting-edge engineering with an iconic reinterpretation of quattro capabilities.
Equipped with two electric motors delivering a combined output of 380 kW, the Q6 e-tron offroad concept climbs gradients up to 100 percent, thanks to its newly developed portal axles. These axles increase torque at the wheels by an impressive 50 percent, pushing combined torque to 13,400 Nm (9,883 lb-ft) during peak performance.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner described the concept as a “highly emotive reinterpretation of quattro,” adding, “This vehicle can claim new ground. It showcases the potential of our electric platform and redefines what’s possible for an electric off-roader.”
Key Features of the Q6 e-tron Offroad Concept:
- Enhanced Off-Road Performance: An increased ride height of 160 mm and a wider track by 250 mm for superior handling and striking aesthetics.
- Advanced Torque Distribution: Newly designed portal axles integrated into the wheel hubs significantly boost torque at all wheels.
- Optimized Speed and Climbing Capability: A top speed of 175 km/h (108 mph) ensures safe off-road adventures, with the ability to tackle gradients up to 45 degrees.
- Electrified Powertrain: Built on the Audi Q6 platform, the concept emphasizes range, efficiency, and fast charging performance.
The Q6 e-tron offroad concept’s striking appearance and technical prowess make it a beacon of Audi’s Vorsprung durch Technik. It will make its action debut on February 1, 2025, at the F.A.T. Ice Race, and enthusiasts can follow its journey on Audi Sport’s social media channels.
This innovative concept demonstrates Audi’s commitment to sustainability and performance, solidifying its leadership in the electric vehicle segment.
