The Volkswagen Group has announced a significant move to bolster its charging and fueling services through the merger of LOGPAY Transport Services GmbH, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, with the mobility service operations of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli). The merger will result in the creation of Elli Mobility GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elli, which is expected to begin operations in March 2025.
This strategic consolidation aims to enhance synergies and streamline offerings for business and private customers transitioning to e-mobility. By combining LOGPAY’s expertise in charge and fuel card services with Elli’s advanced e-mobility solutions, the new entity will cater to the growing demand for intelligent charging and fueling services for electric, hybrid, and combustion engine vehicles.
Driving the E-Mobility Revolution
Giovanni Palazzo, CEO of Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH (Elli), emphasized the importance of this merger:
“By consolidating our efforts under one roof, we are increasing synergies and creating a robust, competitive offering that positions us as a leading mobility provider in Europe. It not only meets the needs of customers with electric vehicles but also the growing demands of ‘mixed’ households and fleets that include combustion engine cars.”
Anthony Bandmann, CSO of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, highlighted the operational benefits:
“By merging LOGPAY Transport with Elli’s MSP and fleet activities, we are bringing together what naturally belongs together. This strengthens the crucial business of charging and fueling cards within the Volkswagen Group, reduces redundancies, and allows us to offer our customers everything from a single source in the future.”
A Unified Solution for Diverse Needs
Elli Mobility GmbH underscores Volkswagen’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility while addressing market demands. Customers will benefit from:
- Streamlined Services: A unified contractual partner for fuel, charging, and carwash services.
- Innovative Products: Comprehensive solutions including home charging, workplace charging, and digital fueling and washing services.
- Expanded Reach: Enhanced service coverage across Europe, ensuring convenience for varied fleet requirements.
The new company will be led by Joschi Jennermann as CEO and Sebastian Steffen as CFO, steering Volkswagen’s vision of sustainable and inclusive mobility into its next phase.
With Europe entering a pivotal stage in its e-mobility transformation, Volkswagen’s Elli Mobility GmbH is set to become a cornerstone of modern mobility solutions.
