The Volkswagen Group reported robust performance for 2024, achieving a total of 9.03 million vehicle deliveries worldwide, a slight 2.3% decline from 2023. The company delivered a strong fourth quarter, with 2.5 million vehicles shipped globally, maintaining momentum despite challenging market conditions.
“In a competitive environment, we introduced over 30 new models, including numerous all-electric vehicles, solidifying our position as the market leader in Europe’s all-electric segment,” said Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group.
Key Performance Highlights:
- Regional Growth: North America recorded a 6.4% rise in deliveries, while South America grew by an impressive 14.7%, driven by an 18.2% surge in Brazil. Europe maintained stability, delivering 3.77 million vehicles.
- Challenges in China: Deliveries in China declined by 9.5%, reflecting fierce price competition, though strategic portfolio adjustments showed promising results toward year-end.
- Electric Vehicles: Battery electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries reached 744,800 units, representing 8.3% of the total, with notable growth in China (+8%) and Europe (+18% in Q4). The Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 led BEV sales with 182,000 units sold.
