Twenty-five years ago, the Audi A2 debuted as a revolutionary compact car with its lightweight aluminum body, aerodynamic design, and fuel efficiency. While its unique proportions and futuristic concept polarized opinions, sales fell short of expectations, leading to the end of production after five years and 176,377 units. Despite this, the Audi A2 has grown into a beloved classic and is now a prized collector’s item.

Ninety years ago, in February 1935, the Auto Union racing team made history in Italy with the “Lucca” record car. Originally tested on Berlin’s AVUS track in 1934, the car set out to break speed records over a five-kilometer stretch between Pescia and Altopascio. Piloted by Hans Stuck, it reached an astonishing 326.975 km/h, earning the title of the “world’s fastest road-going car.” The achievement shattered 26 world records and 13 international class records, solidifying its place in automotive history. The “Anniversary Dates 2025” booklet by Audi Tradition highlights key milestones in Audi’s rich and dynamic history. Audi historians have chosen 27 significant dates to celebrate in 2025, showcasing the brand’s journey through pivotal moments in its product and company evolution.
